Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the questions patients ask most, from booking and referrals through to payment and follow-up.

Who is Mr Jonathan Broome?

Mr Broome is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Urogynaecologist with over 25 years' experience and the founder of The Pelvic Clinic. He specialises in prolapse, urinary incontinence and keyhole pelvic floor surgery, and also treats general gynaecological concerns.

What does The Pelvic Clinic treat?

Conditions include pelvic organ prolapse, stress and urge incontinence, heavy periods, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovaries and vulval skin conditions, alongside more general gynaecology.

Do I need a referral letter from my GP?

No — a GP referral is not required to book directly with the practice manager or the Spire appointments team. If you have private health cover your insurer will usually request one, and a referral also means your medical history and results are available at your appointment.

I'm not sure exactly what's wrong — can I still book?

Yes. You do not need the medical word for it; describe what you feel and the clinic will take it from there.

Will my care be private and discreet?

Yes. You'll be looked after privately, with discretion and the time to talk things through properly.

How quickly can I be seen?

Self-pay patients are warmly welcomed and can usually be seen promptly — a reassuring alternative to long NHS waits.

Who do I contact with further questions?

The practice management team at info@thepelvicclinic.co.uk or on 0161 726 5101 (or 0161 726 5100 to book).
